Talk to JAWS veterans and the TSISW crew live on blogtalkradio tomorrow!

The Movie Geeks are at it again. They're going to be taking a few different opportunities over the rest of the summer to pay tribute to Steven Spielberg. The first installment is tomorrow night and they'll be celebrating the one that made Spielberg a household name – Jaws.

For that you'll get to hear us making a return appearance, but it doesn't stop there. In fact after it's all said and done, we'll probably end up as a footnote on the show because you're going to get to hear from several Jaws veterans.

The guest list includes:

Jaws screenwriter, Carl Gottlieb

Jeffrey Kramer - "Deputy Hendricks"

Susan Backlinie - "Chrissie"

Wendy Benchley, wife of the late Peter Benchley.

If you're a Jaws fan, a Spielberg fan, or even just an overall movie fan don't miss out on the show. Not just tomorrow, but as part of your routine. It's a fantastic show that is booming in popularity and has even become available on iTunes if you can't be around to listen when the show airs live. The show airs every Wednesday and Saturday night, and it's always a blast. We're not only guests on the show from time to time, but we're all very loyal listeners as well. Be sure to listen tomorrow and hang out with us in the online chat room.

The show will be airing tomorrow at 10:00PM EST. You can tune in by going to:

IN MEMORY OF ROY SCHEIDER

Roy Scheider has always been my hero. He is, and will always be my favorite actor and I've seen every movie he's ever been in. When a movie opened in the theater, I was always there. As a kid, I watched Roy hitting home runs in "Tiger Town," busting thugs in "The French Connection," flying a state-of the-art helicopter in "Blue Thunder," as well as going to space in "2010;" but Roy's turn as Chief Brody in "Jaws" and "Jaws 2" started it all...

I always appreciated Roy's endurance and persistence in film and TV. You could tell he always tried his best. He was a professional actor who always strove to test himself and evolve as an artist. Roy Scheider was a class act and family man, whose star out-shines so many of those who seek to "entertain" today.

Through "The Shark Is Still Working" I had the opportunity to write Roy and let him know how much he meant to me as an artist. After receiving my letter, Roy was kind enough to speak with me on the phone and I'm so glad I was able to let him know what he meant to me. In my letter, I had mentioned to Roy that my mother was suffering from cancer and Roy was diligent in asking about her well-being. I told Mr. Scheider about her condition and wished him well with his own fight. He was so kind and gracious to me. I'll never forget the end of our last conversation, when Roy said "send your mother my love, and save some of that love for yourself."

I now send my love to the Scheider family...

Roy Scheider will always be my hero. God bless him...

In memory of Roy Scheider (1932-2008)

From the MovieGeeks United Posting:

There will be a tribute show on internet radio (anyone with a computer can listen in) in honor of Roy Scheider.

The show will feature live interviews with some of Mr. Scheider's last collaborators, including filmmakers behind 'The Shark is Still Working' (Jake Gove, James Gelet, Erik Hollander and Michael McCormack), director Ed Cummings, Orson Cummings and Michael Druxman, as well as biographer Diane Kachmar.

During the broadcast, two tracks from TSISW (composed by Michael McCormack) will be premiered in honor of Roy Scheider. It starts at 630pm PST/930pm EST.

OTHER NEWS:

Agenda Films has selected composer Michael McCormack for "Looking Back at the Future." Mike also composed the original score for "The Tyler Mullins Story." He will be busy with movie documentaries in the coming months. Mike is also scoring "The Shark is Still Working" for our Jaws buddies.

Well, it’s already well into another year and as you can see, the shark isn’t the only thing that’s STILL working… We’re chipping away daily on the show and we think we can safely say that we may have the ultimate Jaws retrospective on our hands. We’ve tried hard to leave no stone unturned in our quest for all things Jaws, and with the help of the fan community, we may have come nicely close to our objective.

Among new developments to the project, we are proud to announce the addition of musician, and die-hard Jaws fan, Mike McCormack, of the band The Invented. Mike and his band have already produced an amazing version of Show Me the Way to Go Home, which will be featured in the closing credits. He has now produced some terrific accompaniment cues to underlie the visual material in the show and will be providing the lion’s share of background music throughout. Our congratulations go to him for also being asked to score another Spielberg-related fan retrospective entitled Looking Back at the Future, which is currently in post production from Agenda Films. As with TSISW, the documentary will feature all new material from the production of the Back to the Future films, including exclusive interviews with the cast and crew of all three films.

It seems that there is a growing interest in retrospective pieces like these, among both fans and studios, and we are pleased and honored to be a part of this new trend celebrating what we feel is one of the worthiest subjects in the archive of Hollywood masterpieces. Our goal is to have the documentary completed in time for a summer release, so enough rambling, we gotta get back to work… Here’s to another year of the Shark… is still working!
